Kaunto

Privacy Policy

This explains what personal data Kaunto (sole proprietorship of Amol Deshmukh) collects when you use Kaunto, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are in a country with its own rules, tell us and we will do our best to honour them.

1. Who is responsible

Kaunto (sole proprietorship of Amol Deshmukh) decides how and why your data is processed, and is the data fiduciary for the purposes of the DPDP Act.

Our contact details, including our registered address, are on the Contact Us page. Grievances go to the same address — see section 10.

2. What we collect, and why

Information you give us

| What | Why we need it | | --- | --- | | Name, email address, phone number | To create your account, sign you in, and reach you about your service | | Business name and address | To identify your account and put the right details on your receipt | | GSTIN, if you give us one | To put it on your receipt, if you need it for input credit | | Payment details | Handled entirely by our payment gateway. We never see or store your card number. We keep only a payment reference, the amount and whether it succeeded |

Information your connected accounts give us

When you connect Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or YouTube, you grant that access yourself through their own authorisation screens. We then receive, depending on which you connect: your business profile details, your reviews and the people who wrote them, your posts and their performance figures, and messages or comments sent to your accounts.

We use this only to run the features you asked for. Access tokens for social accounts are encrypted before they are stored.

Information you upload

Customer contact lists, media files, post drafts and message content — whatever you put into the products in order to use them.

Information we collect automatically

Sign-in times, IP address, browser and device type, and which parts of the product were used. We use this to keep accounts secure, to fix faults, and to understand which features are worth keeping.

3. Data about other people

Much of what you put into our products is personal data about your customers — the person who left a review, the person on your contact list, the person who messaged your page.

For that data, you are the data fiduciary and we process it on your instructions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold it and for telling those people what you do with it. We will not use it for our own purposes, will not sell it, and will not use it to market to them.

4. Artificial intelligence

Features that draft review replies or post captions send the relevant text — the review, your business details, the draft you are working on — to a third-party AI provider so a suggestion can be generated.

We do not send your customer contact lists, payment details or account credentials to AI providers. Drafts are suggestions; nothing is published until you publish it.

5. Who else sees your data

We use a small number of service providers, each for one job:

| Provider | What they do | | --- | --- | | Convex | Runs our database and application functions | | Google Firebase | Sign-in, file storage, website hosting | | Razorpay | Processes payments | | Anthropic and OpenAI | Generate the AI drafts described above | | Resend | Sends transactional email — receipts, renewal notices | | WhatsApp Business Platform | Sends the WhatsApp messages you ask us to send | | Google, Meta, LinkedIn | Receive the posts and replies you publish, at your instruction |

We share what each needs for its job, and nothing more.

Beyond that, we share data only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

6. Where your data is held

Our infrastructure providers operate outside India, so your data may be stored and processed outside India. We choose providers that offer appropriate safeguards, and we transfer only in line with the DPDP Act.

7. How long we keep it

  • While your account is open — we keep your data so the service works.
  • If your subscription lapses — your account is paused, not deleted. Nothing is removed while it is paused, and everything returns if you resume.
  • If you close your account — we delete your content within 90 days, and we will email you before we do.
  • Records we must keep — payment and tax records are retained for as long as Indian tax law requires, regardless of the above.
  • Backups — deleted data can persist in encrypted backups for a short period before those backups roll over.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may:

  • ask what we hold about you and what we have done with it;
  • have it corrected if it is wrong, incomplete or out of date;
  • have it erased, unless we are required to keep it;
  • withdraw consent at any time — this stops future processing and does not undo what was lawfully done before;
  • nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapable;
  • complain to us first, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not resolve it.

Email support@kauntohq.in and we will respond within 4 business hours and complete the request as quickly as we reasonably can.

You can also disconnect any Google, Meta or LinkedIn account from inside the product at any time, and revoke our access from that platform's own settings.

9. Keeping it safe

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Social platform access tokens are encrypted separately before storage. Access inside our team is limited to people who need it. We take backups and we test that they restore.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires.

10. Grievances

If something about how we handle your data concerns you, write to us first:

11. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. We also use basic analytics to see which pages are used. We do not use advertising cookies that track you across other websites.

12. Children

Our products are sold to businesses and are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data about children. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

13. Changes

We will update this policy as the products change. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or inside the product before it takes effect.
